What this is: this is a music blog dedicated to queer/feminist/innovative/important/influential/mostly female/non-mainstream music. Electro is my favorite genre so that is what you will hear the most of, but it’s certainly not limited to that genre.

Why I am doing this: I do this because I love music, music is my passion, my life, my joy, my air, my outlet, my therapy, and a way to connect with others. It can be hard to find new, amazing shit you haven’t heard of before. Since I am doing this already verbally with the people in my life, it will be an easy and fun transition to do it in blog form.

Who are you: a music enthusiast looking for new queer/indie/straight up GOOD non-mainstream artists. Maybe you don’t have a lot of time to search the internet for new stuff or don’t know where to begin, this is where I come in. I am constantly searching for new music in every way that I can, the internet, going to shows, and talking to other music enthusiasts. I am here to share.

Who I am: My name is Amy Kasio, and I am a music enthusiast and a musician. I used to write a music blog a few years ago on Myspace called “Girls You Need To Hear”, http://www.myspace.com/amykasiolovesit, which focused on spreading the word about awesome female musicians you may not have heard of. I strayed away from the mainstream, instead, chosing to focus on indie/queer/female musicians. It was very well received and pretty popular. I had a constant stream of female musicians linking me to their amazing self produced music and lots of happy feedback from listeners. I have since met several people in real life who know of me because of that blog! Crazy, huh? I stopped doing the blog about 3 years ago and I am ready to pick it back up again. Right now I am going to commit to updating you with new stuff every other weekend.

Now you may be asking: “Amy Kasio, where the hell have you been?” Well, I will tell you!
